The answer is YES. We can change the world through education, teacher by teacher, teen by teen here in the US.
On September 2014 we started a pilot test in some schools in Houston to analyze if our YPD method (currently working with thousands of teens in Spain, México and Ecuador), could work within US public schools system. We didn’t know the answer and today we do: It is a BIG YES.
Students from our pilot program schools presented their final work on Rice University in front of a panel of executives, investors and education executives after working only for 3 months with the YPD methodology. The results where beyond my expectations. Not only on the teens, also on the teachers, principals, deans and everyone involved.
In one word (said by the teens), YPD means: Opportunity, Creativity, Growth, Hope and Team Work. Yeah!!! This is the kind of feedback and inspiration we need to keep pushing forward this great challenge.
Soon I will share here a testimonial video for you to enjoy and share. In the mean time here is the opinion of some of the executives involved in the program:
“These young people from at risk backgrounds developed leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution, relationship building, persistence and financial skills. YPD is an exceptional tool for social emotional development and entrepreneurship.”
Marina Walne, CEO
CEO EduStart LLC & Founder of the John Cooper School
“YPD is a testament to what young people from any background can achieve. It provides youth with the tools to develop into well-rounded, motivated individuals who can be responsible for their futures. YPD is an important step in educating the whole adolescent, which is necessary as they prepare to live and work in our global, information-driven marketplace.”

REEP leader at YES Prep-Gulfton School.
YPD is an innovative program that centers on developing America’s future, our kids. YPD establishes entrepreneurship, passion and motivation in our youth. I am excited to be part of the YPD movement and look forward to the day every high school in America is part of the program. Our kids need it and America’s future depends on it. Why not?

YPD is the opportunity for our students to be exposed to the dynamics of entrepreneurship through their own personal growth. YPD is development of self – finding your inner voice and giving it life through creative venture while developing the spirit of teamwork. YPD has not only been beneficial for our students; it has been beneficial for our coaches as well.
Dr. Brenda Arteaga
